Quick Tip: Buckle Up! Super-Speed Energy Almost Here

Each year at this time (late November), there is a powerful transit that bathes the entire planet in super-fast Manifesting Generator energy. A transit is a set of Human Design gate energies activated by the constantly moving planetary bodies. Transits happen every day, all year long. Some are more impactful than others. (Read more about transits here)

This transit, with the sun in gate 34 and the earth in gate 20, activates the 34-20 channel which is the archetype of the Manifesting Generator. Manifesting Generators are the fastest processing and functioning type of all the Human Design types and, when defined by the 34-20 channel, that MG is the fastest of all the MGs.

So, what does this mean for us right now?

Starting Saturday, November 23, 2019, and lasting 6 days we all can benefit from this powerful surge of available energy! (Of course, where you are on the planet affects exactly when the transit begins and ends for you.)

Gate 34 is the gate of power and Gate 20 is the gate of the “now.” Together, they flow the Sacral Center’s potent work force and life force energy directly to the Throat Center providing “motor energy” for communicating and making things happen in the world.

This is BUSY energy. The busiest, in fact.

How might YOU feel this energy during the transit?

If you have an undefined Sacral Center (you are a Projector, Manifestor, or Reflector), you will likely feel an increase in energy available for getting things done. This can be good news, especially just before Thanksgiving when there is often a lot to do!

This energy can also feel exhausting, so pay attention to your body and what it needs. You may need extra naps and rest time. Whatever you do, pace yourself and don’t overdo it. This energy isn’t yours. You’re just “borrowing” it and experiencing the flavor of it. You don’t actually become a Manifesting Generator. You just may feel it temporarily. (By the way, not everyone feels it.  If you don’t feel it, don’t worry about it!)

If you have a defined Sacral Center (you are a Generator or Manifesting Generator), you may feel an increase in your energy for making things happen. This is the initiating energy that gives “manifesting” capacity to the Manifesting Generator types.

You may feel a turbo-boost in your ability to communicate powerfully and get things done. You may get super busy! But it’s still not YOUR energy, so pay attention to how your body feels and don’t overdo it. You can get exhausted by this energy, too.

If you already have the 34-20 defined in your chart, you might feel an extra surge of energy but you’re probably already so busy that you may not even notice it.  😉

For all of us:  this transit gives us a brief, golden opportunity to turbo-boost our “doing-ness.”

Now that you know about it, you can plan for and wisely leverage this temporary gift of powerful energy.

Celebrity Chart: Elon Musk — is there such thing as a billionaire’s chart?

(posted 2018/09/17)

When I see super successful people in the news I often wonder what makes them tick, and specifically if there is something in their Human Design chart that makes them different from you and me.

Elon Musk is one of those people–a successful billionaire entrepreneur running multiple companies who is actively (even aggressively) trying to move the world toward the future with luxury electric cars and ambitious plans for commercial space flight and colonizing Mars!

BACKGROUND

(this section excerpted from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elon_Musk)
Elon Reeve Musk, Fellow of the Royal Society, is a business magnate and investor. He holds South African, Canadian, and U.S. citizenship and is the founder, CEO, and lead designer of SpaceX; co-founder, CEO, and product architect of Tesla, Inc.; co-founder and CEO of Neuralink; and co-founder of PayPal. In December 2016, he was ranked 21st on the Forbes list of The World’s Most Powerful People. As of August 2018, he has a net worth of $20.2 billion and is listed by Forbes as the 46th-richest person in the world.

Born in Pretoria, South Africa, Musk taught himself computer programming at the age of 10. He moved to Canada when he was 17 to attend Queen’s University. He transferred to the University of Pennsylvania two years later, where he received an economics degree from the Wharton School and a degree in physics from the College of Arts and Sciences. He began a Ph.D. in applied physics and material sciences at Stanford University in 1995 but dropped out after two days to pursue an entrepreneurial career. He subsequently co-founded Zip2, a web software company, which was acquired by Compaq for $340 million in 1999. Musk then founded X.com, an online bank. It merged with Confinity in 2000 and became PayPal, which was bought by eBay for $1.5 billion in October 2002.

In May 2002, Musk founded SpaceX, an aerospace manufacturer and space transport services company, of which he is CEO and lead designer. He helped fund Tesla, Inc., an electric vehicle and solar panel manufacturer, in 2003, and became its CEO and product architect. In 2006, he inspired the creation of SolarCity, a solar energy services company that is now a subsidiary of Tesla, and operates as its chairman. In 2015, Musk co-founded OpenAI, a nonprofit research company that aims to promote friendly artificial intelligence. In July 2016, he co-founded Neuralink, a neurotechnology company focused on developing brain–computer interfaces, and is its CEO. In December 2016, Musk founded The Boring Company, an infrastructure and tunnel-construction company.

In addition to his primary business pursuits, Musk has envisioned a high-speed transportation system known as the Hyperloop, and has proposed a vertical take-off and landing supersonic jet electric aircraft with electric fan propulsion, known as the Musk electric jet. Musk has stated that the goals of SpaceX, Tesla, and SolarCity revolve around his vision to change the world and humanity. His goals include reducing global warming through sustainable energy production and consumption and reducing the “risk of human extinction” by establishing a human colony on Mars.

(this section written by me, based on Dawson Church’s new book Mind to Matter: The Astonishing Science of How Your Brain Creates Material Reality*)
I was fascinated recently to read Dawson Church’s view of Elon Musk, who calls him “one person whose personal vision has reshaped entire industries.”  Dawson sums up his example of Musk as someone who successfully uses his mind to alter reality by saying, “Musk’s mind-set is relentlessly positive, whatever the challenge.  His mind has been the source of multiple game-changing material realities.”

*I am an Amazon Associate, so I may receive commission on purchases of this book. I only recommend books that I believe are of excellent quality and usefulness. I am loving Dawson’s new book!

Celebrity Chart: Jared Leto

(posted 2014/06/27)

Here is a brief look at a celebrity’s Human Design chart using just a few of many aspects and layers of a chart. Our purpose here is to give you just a partial glimpse, through Human Design, into this person’s energy dynamics.

Jared Leto – Uncommonly Talented 1/3 Manifesting Generator

Birth: December 26, 1971 at 12:36pm in Bossier City, Louisiana

Background

Many thanks to my loyal reader Maya Oliver who suggested Jared for this Celebrity Chart article and who provided a wonderfully detailed description of him, his background, and his diverse accomplishments. I’ve used most of what she sent me in this Background section!

Here is a direct quote from Maya:

Jared LetoFrom music and film, to new business ventures and philanthropy, I am continually blown away by the energy, drive and dedication Leto puts into everything he does. His work leaves me inspired and motivated to believe, follow my dreams, work hard and fight the good fight.

I think his story and energy would be really interesting, and even inspiring, to many people and your readers would really enjoy learning about someone who is such a creative powerhouse, using their energy and ability to create such meaningful impacts in people’s lives.

Photo By nicolas genin from Paris, France (66ème Festival de Venise (Mostra)) [CC-BY-SA-2.0], via Wikimedia Commons

Jared Leto is an incredible musician, actor, film maker, entrepreneur, innovator, philanthropist and an all-around fascinating, highly-focused and deeply-driven human being who is making long-lasting and meaningful impacts on the world.

Early Life

  • He came from humble beginnings in Louisiana and was raised by a single-mother with his brother, Shannon. His birth father divorced his mother, remarried then committed suicide when Leto was eight years old.
  • With his mother and brother, Leto moved frequently, living in different states, a hippie commune and even in Haiti. Heavily influenced by the arts and music, he enrolled at the University of Arts in Philadelphia and later transferred to the School of Visual Arts in New York City to study film making.
  • In 1992, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue music and took acting jobs on the side to pay the bills. His acting career took off, earning roles in both television (My So Called Life) and film (Prefontaine, Girl, Interrupted, Fight Club, American Psycho, Requiem for a Dream).
  • In 1998, he and his brother Shannon formed their rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars, releasing their first of four albums in 2002.

Accomplishments

  • Thirty Seconds to Mars has released four albums to date: the self-titled debut in 2002, A Beautiful Lie (2005), This Is War (2009) and most recently Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams (2013).
  • In August 2008, Thirty Seconds to Mars found themselves at the center of a $30 million lawsuit, filed against the band by their record company EMI (which at the time was the parent company of Virgin Records) for breach of contract when the band attempted to change labels. It was a very public and stressful event, which the band chronicled in their documentary Artifact (directed by Leto) that examined the state of the modern music industry and shed light on the unbalanced relationships between artists and record companies that can easily leave artists flat broke.
  • They have headlined multiple world tours with sold out shows across the globe and on December 11, 2011 at a concert in New York City, they set a Guinness World Record for “Longest Concert Tour by a Rock Band” with 309 shows in nearly 60 countries on 6 continents in just over two years. (Maya was lucky enough to attend this concert in person and was blown away by Leto‘s stage presence, his connection with the fans and the genuine sense of community that the band collectively created among everyone. As a Reflector, she was acutely aware that energy created in that space was simply incredible. She says, “It was a powerful and moving blend of inspiration, motivation, camaraderie, love, gratitude and sheer happiness to be a part of such a special event in one of the greatest cities in the world, led by highly creative and really conscious people. I rode that incredible, positive energy wave for days and days.”)
  • Leto has directed the majority of the band’s music videos (many of which are actually short films) under the pseudonym Bartholomew Cubbins, his favorite Dr. Seuss character.

In addition to being a musician, actor and director, Leto has an innovative business sense that earned him a spot on Fast Company’s “Most Creative People” List, and he has launched numerous companies including:

  • The Hive, a social media management and digital marketing company
  • Adventures in Wonderland, a full service company that manages exclusive services for concerts, festivals and events. (30 Seconds to Mars fans can purchase “Adventures in Wonderland” tickets to concerts that include VIP seating, Meet and Greets with the band, etc.
  • VyRT, a live video streaming service that enables artists to sell “virtual tickets” to concerts, allowing fans to watch live from a computer or mobile device. (30 Seconds to Mars has offered VyRT tickets to several of their concerts.)

More Accomplishments

  • Leto recently returned to acting and earned wide praise in 2014 for his Oscar and Golden Globe winning roll as Rayon, a drug addicted transgender woman with AIDS in Dallas Buyers Club. His acceptance speech at the Academy Awards was one of the most beautiful and touching speeches of the evening, thanking those who have helped him along the way and offering support and encouragement to anyone who has ever been treated poorly because of who they are. It was a true reflection of his character.
  • A genuine philanthropist and human rights advocate, Leto has supported numerous causes and charitable organizations from The Nature Conservancy to Habitat for Humanity. He raised money to support the campaign against California Proposition 8 in 2009 and released a book of photographs that he took during a visit to Haiti to raise money for the 2010 earthquake survivors.

Celebrity Chart: Nikola Tesla – forgotten genius

(posted 2014/05/29)

Here is a brief look at a celebrity’s Human Design chart using just a few of many aspects and layers of a chart. Our purpose here is to give you just a partial glimpse, through Human Design, into this person’s energy dynamics.

Nikola Tesla

Birth: July 10, 1856 at around midnight, in Smiljan, Yugoslavia (now Croatia)

Death: January 7, 1943

Background

Nikola TeslaThis tall (6ft2), skinny (148 lbs) genius inventor and engineer pioneered some of the world’s most important inventions. His tireless work on the Alternating Current electrical system in the late 1880’s gave us our US power system, which then became the standard for electricity across the globe.

He held 300 patents from 26 countries and was also a poet, philosopher, lover of fine music, food and wine, and a linguist (he spoke 8 languages).

Although I found conflicting birth times for him, biographical accounts of his birth at the stroke of midnight during an electrical storm led me to simply choose midnight for creating his Human Design chart.

The prophetic message of an electrical storm producing an electrical engineering genius has not gone unnoticed by the world!

His Youth

  • He was the 4th of 5 children born to a Serbian Orthodox priest father and a mother who was clever at making tools and electrical appliances and who had a remarkable memory.
  • He credits his mother for his inherited photographic memory and inventiveness.
  • He was deeply influenced by a math teacher in our equivalent of high school; he finished in 3 years instead of 4, and was able to do complex integral calculus in his head (leading his teachers to suspect he was cheating).
  • He contracted cholera after graduation, was near death several times, and remained prone to illness the rest of his life.
  • Although he began his technical university schooling brilliantly, by his 3rd year he had lost his scholarships, began gambling, and never finished school.
  • He drifted a while, did draftsman work, had a nervous breakdown, moved to Prague and eventually went to Budapest where he became chief electrician for a telegraph company.

His Work

  • In 1882 (age 26) he began working for the Continental Edison Company in France, where he designed and made improvements to electrical equipment.
  • In 1884 he moved to New York City and began working for Edison Machine Works. He developed significant improvements to their motors and generators, but quit over a misunderstanding about compensation for that work.
  • In 1886 he formed his own company, Tesla Electric Light and Manufacturing, received his first US patents, but disagreed with his investors who fired him and left him penniless.
  • In 1887 he started the Tesla Electric Company with the backing of a Western Union director. There he invented an Alternating Current induction motor (which many individuals and companies were also working on) and was paid handsomely as consultant to Westinghouse for a brief time. He also worked on wireless energy transmission and patented his now-famous Tesla coil (still used in radio technology today).
  • In the “war of the currents” (alternating vs. direct), both Edison and Westinghouse nearly went bankrupt and Tesla ended up selling 40 of his important patents to Westinghouse in lieu of the far more lucrative original royalties agreement he held.
  • He went on to work on x-rays, radio waves, wireless telecommunications and wireless power transmissions, high-voltage “lightening” experiments, bladeless turbine engines, a steam-powered mechanical oscillator, a hydroelectric power plant, in 1928 the invention of a bi-plane that could take off vertically, and later a “death ray” particle gun!

Cool & Weird Stuff About Him

  • At age 35 Tesla became a naturalized US citizen–something he valued more than all the scientific recognition he had received.
  • In the early 1890’s he was investigating the possibility of harvesting energy in space. Wow!
  • He wrote books and articles for magazines and journals, and many of his writings are now available for free on the Internet.
  • “Tesla related in his autobiography that he experienced detailed moments of inspiration. During his early life, Tesla was stricken with illness time and time again. He suffered a peculiar affliction in which blinding flashes of light would appear before his eyes, often accompanied by visions. Often, the visions were linked to a word or idea he might have come across; at other times they would provide the solution to a particular problem he had encountered. Just by hearing the name of an item, he would be able to envision it in realistic detail. Tesla would visualize an invention in his mind with extreme precision, including all dimensions, before moving to the construction stage, a technique sometimes known as picture thinking. He typically did not make drawings by hand but worked from memory.” [from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikola_Tesla]
  • He claimed to sleep only 2 hours per night, nap only occasionally, and usually walked 8-10 miles per day for exercise.
  • He consistently had money issues, going from broke to rich to broke many times.
  • He could be quite critical of others, especially their weight and clothing.
  • He lived alone (usually in NYC hotels), was a stylish dresser, never married, and was probably OCD (obsessive-compulsive) in later years.
  • He died at 86, alone, impoverished and in debt, his remarkable work largely ignored.
  • He has since been recognized for his genius and his contributions to electrical power generation and so much more, with books, films, awards, statues, a Tesla Memorial Society and a museum.

His Chart

Tesla’s chart is a great example of chart energies expressing themselves. We can clearly see his driving energies and ambitions throughout his chart.

“Human Design TYPES in Relationships” Series: Manifesting Generators

Manifesting Generators:  Nothing Moves Fast Enough for Them

Manifesting GeneratorThere’s a good chance you either ARE one or have a RELATIONSHIP WITH a Manifesting Generator somewhere in your life–they are approximately 33% of the world’s population. Like Generators, they have sustainable energy and constitute a significant part of the world’s work force.

While they share many characteristics with Generators, and some practitioners refer to the two as one Type, here we will look specifically at only the pure Manifesting Generator (your Human Design chart will show “Manifesting Generator” as your Type).

Manifesting Generators have two primary focuses in life:  work and family/mating, so they are usually immersed in relationships all their lives.

Unlike the Generator:

  • Manifesting Generators have a Motor Center to the Throat so can more easily manifest ideas into action, though like the Generator they do need to check in with their Sacral Response before taking action.
  • Manifesting Generators are here to find fastest way through things and may skip steps while getting things “done.”  They may need to go back and fix what they skipped if it was important.
  • Manifesting Generators are the busiest Type and like to have multiple balls in the air.
  • Nothing seems to move fast enough for many Manifesting Generators.
  • The authentic energy of Manifesting Generators may be VERY intense; they are often dynamic and manifest projects and outcomes with a productive burst of energy that keeps on going. They eventually run out of steam, but watch out once they’ve recharged themselves!

They are born to “respond” to everything around them, which they do quite naturally. But often those responses happen so fast that the Manifesting Generator is not consciously aware of them.

Human Design shows Manifesting Generators that they have an amazing internal guidance system—their Sacral Energy Center. It is the red square on the Chart, and only Generators and Manifesting Generators have it. All other Types have a white (“Open”) Sacral Center. This guidance system helps them in all decisions, especially their relationships.

          About This Series

Human Design gives us deeply insightful knowledge about the nature of WHO we are and HOW we behave as human beings.

Your personal Human Design chart (you can get your free Human Design chart here) helps you understand the energy dynamics and personality characteristics of YOU.

Human Design also helps you understand the other people around you and the nature of YOUR relationship with them.

This makes possible the achievement of supportive, fulfilling,
and constructive relationships in every area of your life.
And in every relationship in your life!

Wouldn’t THAT be something!

This series of articles about “Human Design TYPES in Relationships” will help you move forward along this most noble and worthy path.

Today’s article explores how the MANIFESTING GENERATOR TYPE interacts with OTHER TYPES.

Quick Refresher on Human Design TYPES

Please refer to an earlier article in this series for the Quick Refresher on Human Design TYPES, and to read about each of those specific Types. Remaining Types will be published in coming months.

“Human Design TYPES in Relationships” Series: Projectors

“Human Design TYPES in Relationships” Series: Generators

         The MANIFESTING GENERATOR in Relationships

Manifesting Generators who use their inherent energy correctly and follow the inner guidance of their Sacral response are a dynamic and powerful force that benefits the world… and are magnificent to watch in action!

When their Sacral response had guided them to the “right” work for them, they have nearly inexhaustible energy to do that work and get it done FAST!

Because of their sustainable work force and life force energy, they tend to be steady partners in relationships although their specific personality characteristics will be affected by the many other energies in their Human Design Chart.

There are times, though, that you may feel left out of the Manifesting Generator’s world.

This is because:
– They are in their creative “groove” and don’t like to be interrupted
– They don’t “need” other people the way some Types do
– They like to get things done… FAST
– They have sustainable energy… they keep going and going and going
– They may forget to inform the people around them of their actions BEFORE taking them.

They are energizer bunnies who can hold down a job, raise a family, get involved in the PTA or other activities, maybe do volunteer work, stay physically active, and pursue various interests. Not all Manifesting Generators do all of these things… but they could!

Some famous Manifesting Generators are: Frederic Chopin, Marie Curie, Hillary Clinton, Clint Eastwood, Sigmund Freud, Mahatma Gandhi, Steffi Graf, Marie Antoinette, Mikhail Gorbachev, Jimi Hendrix, Pope John Paul II, Janis Joplin, Friedrich Nietzsche, Richard Nixon, Yoko Ono, Prince, Jacqueline Onassis, Martin Luther King, Vincent Van Gogh.

           If You ARE a MANIFESTING GENERATOR . . .

Your brain will often work hard to figure out the right answers for you, but that is NOT where YOU want to be making your decisions and choices. That’s what your Sacral responses are for.

If you’re not waiting for life to “come to you” and then responding to it (so you know if you should pursue that thing or not), then you won’t know what is truly “right” for you to apply your considerable energy and competence to.Multiple directions

It’s likely that you’ve been rushing off in a lot of scattered directions until now, without waiting to respond. Problem is… that’s just not correct for you. Hence, many “wrong” directions, accompanied by frustration, anger, and impatience.

Sadly, closest relationships often bear the brunt of those reactions. When you wait for and follow your inner guidance, you’ll have less frustration spilling over onto others. And recognizing that the frustration and anger you feel is just energy can also help you minimize its impact on others.

However, frustration IS part of your personal learning curve, so you won’t be avoiding it entirely. It takes courage to wait for, trust, and follow your Sacral Response… but everything in your life (including relationships) will benefit when you do.

You’ll be more effective in your relationships when you work at being as respectful of others as you can, watch out for power struggles, and learn to bend a little. Also, remember to INFORM those who will be impacted by your actions BEFORE you take those actions.

Don’t worry about skipping steps, moving fast, and multi-tasking… you are designed for these! Don’t let anyone try to slow you down.

You also need to be active enough during your day to be physically tired when you go to bed. It’s as if you wake up each morning with a full tank of gas, and you need to use it all before you sleep. Then you wake up with a new full tank the next day and do it all again. If you’re not sleeping well, try getting more physical activity. This is especially true for Manifesting Generator children, many of whom are incorrectly diagnosed with ADD or ADHD.

           If You LOVE a MANIFESTING GENERATOR . . .

If you are not a Manifesting Generator but are in a relationship with one, follow these guidelines:

-Accept that they move fast, fast, fast, and may leave you behind at times. Don’t try to keep up–you will wear down and burn out.  Once this energy difference in your relationship is truly understood and respected, you’ll both be happier. Most of all, enjoy the ride!

-Understand that it is correct for them to wait for their inner guidance before they take action.

-Allow the Manifesting Generator the time to wait for things to respond to, and the freedom to honor and follow their responses… even if their responses “appear” to not be logical.

-The most respectful—and helpful—way that you can interact with a Manifesting Generator is to ask them Yes/No questions. This allows them a clear opportunity for their Sacral Center to respond and give them guidance.

Don’t take their frustration/anger/impatience personally. Recognize that it’s part of their process, and when you support them in being true to their Manifesting Generator nature you’ll help them minimize all of that.

I welcome you to share below any success stories you have had as a Manifesting Generator or as someone in relationship with a Manifesting Generator. Your generosity in sharing for the benefit of everyone is greatly appreciated!

Celebrity Chart: Miley Cyrus–From Good Girl to Provocative

(posted 2014/03/27)

Here is a brief look at a celebrity’s Human Design chart using just a few of many aspects and layers of a chart. Our purpose here is to give you just a partial glimpse, through Human Design, into this person’s energy dynamics.

Miley Cyrus (born Destiny Hope Cyrus)

Birth: November 23, 1992 at 4:19pm in Nashville, Tennessee

Background

Miley CyrusWhat happened to Miley’s wholesome, fun-loving, Hannah Montana image of just a few years ago (at left)?

This teen idol and Disney Channel star of the Hannah Montana show has done what seems to be 180-shift into an edgy and provocative singer/performer (a very tame photo at right). She’s currently 21.

Looking at her Human Design chart significantly helps us make sense of what is happening.

Let’s understand a little of her background first.

Early Life

  • Daughter of famed country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, she was raised with siblings and half-siblings on a 500-acre farm outside Nashville, TN, where they all attended church regularly
  • When she was 8, the family moved to Toronto where her father starred in the TV series Doc and where Miley began her acting and singing career, including a role in her father’s show

Early Career

  • At age 11 she auditioned for Disney’s new Hannah Montana TV show, where her persistence as well as her talent landed her the lead role
  • The show began airing in 2006 which immediately skyrocketed her career and established her as a teen idol; she filmed 98 episodes of that show and starred in Hannah Montana: The Movie in 2009
  • During that time she also signed recording contracts, released top-selling albums, co-wrote many songs, and appeared on other TV shows, movies, and concert stages
  • Her mother made many wise choices for her, largely through great advice from the family’s great connections (including Dolly Parton), regarding studio contracts, agent representation, and other business decisions

Accomplishments

  • Best summed up by this Wikipedia quote: “Cyrus is recognized as among the most successful artists to originate from The Walt Disney Company. She has five non-consecutive number-one albums on the U.S. Billboard 200, two of which are soundtracks credited to her titular character Hannah Montana, and has earned numerous awards and nominations. In 2010, Cyrus ranked number thirteen on Forbes‘ Celebrity 100, and was named the “Most Charted Teenager” in the 2011 Guinness World Records with twenty-nine Billboard Hot 100 entries as of November 2009. In 2013, she was recognized as the “Artist of the Year” by MTV.”

Recent Developments

  • By 2009, around age 16, she began emerging as herself in her music and acting career
  • Noticeably different look in 2013: short hair, often bright red lips, independent attitude, edgy and provocative clothing
  • Generated controversy (and a lot of publicity) with sexually explicit song performances while promoting her fourth studio album Bangerz

Quick Spotlight: Two Different Decision-Making Styles

Recently, two clients asked for a Relationship Reading so they could deepen their friendship and improve how they support each other in their respective businesses. They are both lightworker entrepreneurs and have been best friends for years.

They had each had a Personal Reading with me, so they were ready to dive into the details of the energetic dynamics of their relationship.

Among the many profoundly useful things they learned, understanding the specific ways in which their respective decision-making processes are different was significantly valuable to them.

One is a Generator, the other a Manifesting Generator. So at first glance we might assume that their decision-making styles would be similar. They both have a Defined Sacral Center and need to wait for their Sacral response to know if something is right for them.

However, the Generator is emotionally defined (her Emotional Solar Plexus Center is colored in) so she must wait through her emotional wave and note her Sacral response at various points on her wave before she can make a correct decision for herself. This slows her down and gives her a deliberate and somewhat emotional way of arriving at her decisions.

The Manifesting Generator is emotionally open (her Emotional Solar Plexus Center is white) so her Sacral response in the moment is her immediate answer for the decision. She is designed to make quick decisions. Plus she has a Defined Spleen Center so she has powerful intuitive awareness in the moment in addition to her Sacral response. And, she’s a Manifesting Generator so she is wired to move fast, think fast, choose fast. She is a speedy and sure decision-maker.

It had been a source of frustration for both of them that their decision processes seemed to be so different… but they didn’t really understand why or what to do.

Now they completely see the underlying dynamics and know that the best way to help each other is to honor and support each of their respective decision-making processes. We also worked on their Yes/No questioning so each can help the other access their Sacral response through asking targeted Sacral questions.

Your comments are welcome!

Celebrity Chart: Peter O’Toole

(posted 2013/12/31)

Here is a brief look at a celebrity’s Human Design chart using just a few of many aspects and layers of a chart. Our purpose here is to give you just a partial glimpse, through Human Design, into this person’s energy dynamics.

Peter O’Toole – Born to Be Bad?

Birth: August 2, 1932 at 12:15am in Wicklow, Ireland*

Death: December 14, 2013 in London, England

Background

Peter_O'Toole_in_Lawrence_of_ArabiaWe lost a true force of nature when Peter O’Toole passed away at the end of 2013 at age 81. He was a powerful actor who lived life with equal gusto on and off the stage and screen.

With a Scottish mother and Irish father, Peter grew up mainly in northern England and attended catholic school for several years. After graduating, he did a brief stint as a journalist then was called up to serve in the Royal Navy for two years.

Then he became a scholarship student at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London 1953-54, where his classmates included Albert Finney and Alan Bates. Unlike them, however, he pursued classic theater craft and developed his signature dramatic stage presence.

He gained recognition as a Shakespearean actor which lead to some television work and a small part in a film.

In 1962 he was cast in Lawrence of Arabia, a stunning film which quickly became a sweeping success and for which Peter received his first Oscar nomination.

After that leap into stardom, many parts came his way and he enjoyed a rich and varied career spanning nearly six decades. In was in over 50 films, dozens of television shows and dozens of stage plays.

This description of his behavior captures his flair for drama and excess, “With his first film sweeping successes, he became a drinker and carouser of mythic proportions.”1

He married a Welsh actress in 1959 and they had two daughters. “I was very happily married,” he said, but apparently she was not. Some years later, she left him.
“Cheerful and unrepentant after years of boozing and brawling, he gave up liquor in 1970.”2 He subsequently had some serious health challenges, but never lost his magical charm. He officially retired from acting in 2012.

He was the most nominated actor (8 times) never to win the Academy Award for Best Actor. He did, however, win multiple Golden Globe Awards, an Emmy, and many other recognitions. And in 2003, he received an Honorary Oscar from the Academy for his entire body of work and his lifelong contribution to film.

*Peter himself was unsure of his exact birthdate and location–he had two birth certificates! But this is the one he believed to be correct.

Quick Spotlight: Use Sacral Response to Improve Your Game?

The sister of one of my clients was intrigued by what that client had learned about herself, her husband, and their relationship during their series of Readings.

So the sister, a Manifesting Generator, (who has not had a Reading with me) set about learning what she could from available books on Human Design and from my Success By TYPE Self-Study Course for Manifesting Generators.

She recently sent me an email describing how she has been using her Sacral response to help her improve her tennis game. She’s a pretty serious player.

It’s such a cool and effective use of Sacral guidance that I wanted to share about it!

When she’s serving the ball, she asks her Sacral if she should serve wide (nope, uhn-uhn) or down the tee (yup, uh-huh) then she follows that guidance. She wrote, “What I noticed is if I listen to my sacral it’s always right in ways my brain can’t figure.”

Even when her brain questions the choice (because it’s not “logical”), if she follows her Sacral response it seems to work out. And she’s been winning!

She says it’s a little tougher when the ball is coming at her, because it comes so fast, but maybe that’s when following Sacral is actually easier because the brain doesn’t have time to “think” or get in the way.

So if YOU are Generator or Manifesting Generator, I encourage you to see where you might try applying your Sacral responses in your life. The results may surprise you…in a really positive way!

And please let me know about your experiences and your feedback.

Celebrity Chart: Stephen King

(posted 2013/10/27)

Here is a brief look at a celebrity’s Human Design chart using just a few of many aspects and layers of a chart. Our purpose here is to give you just a partial glimpse, through Human Design, into this person’s energy dynamics.

Stephen King – Master of Horror

Birth:  Sept. 21, 1947 at 1:30am Portland, Maine

Background

Stephen KingStephen King is a prolific, award winning, world renown author of horror, suspense, drama, science fiction and fantasy. His first horror novel, Carrie, in 1973 was a huge success and was adapted into a popular film as have many of his works including Firestarter, Cujo, IT, The Shining, Misery, and The Shawshank Redemption.

He has sold over 350 million books! He’s published 50 novels (seven under pen-name Richard Bachman), a few non-fiction books, and nearly 200 short stories. Winner of multiple writer’s awards, in 2003 he received the Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters from the National Book Foundation, and in 2007 he garnered the Grand Master Award from the Mystery Writers of America.

It’s no small feat to be one of the most famous and successful horror writers of all time. Plus, this multi-talented man has also been a screenwriter, columnist, actor, television producer, film director and musician.

An avid reader of horror comics as a youngster, he describes the finding of a paperback collection of macabre short stories in an attic as the defining moment of his life. After reading it, he knew that’s what he wanted to do in life. When younger, he presumably saw a friend hit and killed by a train but claims to have no recollection of it—but on a subconscious level it may have deeply influenced his vivid depictions of gruesome events.

When asked why he writes such terrifying stories, he responds with “Why do you assume I have a choice?” Writing is all he ever wanted to do, and he was actively writing articles and stories in high school. After graduating from the University of Maine with a degree in English he took odd jobs and taught English while establishing himself as an author.

His formula for success is to read and write 4-6 hours per day. He sets a writing quota of 2000 words per day and doesn’t stop until it’s done.

A car accident in 1999 caused multiple injuries and by his admission slowed his writing output, though he has continued to write, publish, and collaborate with authors, musicians and film producers. He turned 66 last month and still seems to be going strong.

Doctor Sleep, his long awaited sequel to his famous 1977 book, The Shining, was released last month (Sept. 2013) and hit #1 on the New York Times Best Seller Lists for print and ebook fiction (combined), hardcover fiction, and ebook fiction. It followed several other works he published earlier this year.
