Quick Tip: Be WHERE You Are

by Evelyn Levenson

I mean this in two ways. First, be present to your surroundings and aware of the “right now” moment. If you are time traveling—either thinking about the past or anticipating the future—then you are not here right now.

From my own experience I know that when I’m lost in thought I’m not very aware of what’s around me. But when I shift my attention to what I can see, hear, taste, touch and smell, it brings me out of my distracted state and usually lifts my mood and my energy.

It’s not “bad” to think about past or future, but the greatest value we can get from that thinking is to bring the positive feelings from those times into our present feelings, and experience joy from them right now.

The second way I mean this is to allow yourself to feel your feelings and be where you are in terms of mood or emotions. So often we suppress, ignore or resist our authentic reactions and feelings.

Feelings are to be felt. Whatever you are feeling is valid for you. It’s hard to move on from something that you’re feeling if you don’t allow yourself to process it first. The trick is to not get stuck in the processing.

So allowing yourself to be “where you are” with your feelings has the result of you then being ready and open for whatever is next.

  1. Thanks for this confirmation and reminder. I am a Manifestor 2/4 emotional authority and I have spent so much time suppressing and repressing my emotions. Learning to allow them to be felt and ultimately to guide my decision making is a new goal for me as I begin to understand myself through HD. I am still trying to understand and honor what my wave of emotional energy is guiding me to. I can look back and recognize all the decisions made without the benefit of honoring the wave and being present with what is true for me. I have to stop rushing into contracts and agreements that later I must pull myself out of. I appreciate all of your posts. I am reading the gates and finding I recognize my myself and my not-self in many ways! I think I was skeptical about the validity of HD, but I find myself pulled into learning more over time. I can also see how I was not ready for it when I first discovered it around 2002. Please keep posting, I know we find what we need when we are ready and this information is valuable to our growth and the world.
