Circuitry
Every gate energy belongs to particular circuitry within the chart, which is like an electrical circuit board. This circuitry shows the evolutionary role of the gate energy and how the energy moves through the chart. Each Circuit Group has two Circuits within it.
Circuitry of this Gate
Circuit Group: Individual
The Individual Circuit Group serves the world by bringing forth uniquely individual change (mutation) which indirectly empowers others to transform. It is personal energy, here to follow its own direction and not fit in with others.
Circuit: Centering
The Centering Circuit energies help us to be centered in the truth of who we are and provide direction to others through our own self-empowered direction. This is spiritual energy that is also part of our humanness.
High Expression of this Gate
If you have the Gate 51 defined in your chart, you are here to help others transform their perspective by initiating (or shocking) them out of their normal view into seeing a bigger picture. Surprise is your ally as it helps you to broaden the awareness of others!
This gate energy provides you with the resilience to handle the shocks that may come your way, allowing you to grow from these life-changing experiences, including near-death experiences (NDEs).
You like to test yourself and see if you can be first or best at something. This is interpreted by others as being “competitive” but you’re mostly intent on competing with yourself.
You can be daring and unpredictable, breaking through your limitations (real or perceived) and expanding your possibilities. In business and in life, this can translate into a willingness to be bold, courageous, and take risks.
The very highest expression of the Gate 51 is in challenging and initiating yourself into the love of spirit and universal unconditional love, then challenging and initiating others into this personal growth of transcending the ego.
Low Expression of this Gate
In the low expression of this energy, you may be overly competitive and measure your self-worth by comparing yourself to others. Your zeal to be first or best can cause you to be driven in unhealthy ways.
Some risk-taking is positive and moves you forward, but beware of foolish risks that put you in real danger. Your unpredictability can be exciting to others, but also frightening to them.
One of your greatest gifts is to shock or stun people for their own good, but if they are not ready to be challenged in this way the result may not be what you intended. Sense their openness to it and wait for the right timing.
Ego Impact of this Gate
From an ego perspective, your impact comes from your competitive spirit that brings out the best in you and in others. Your ego can be a driving force for “good” in this way. Though, ultimately, your greatest impact is from transcendence of ego and connection with spirit.
Tips for Using this Energy
-Stay centered; develop practices that return you to your “true north” whenever you get disconnected from yourself.
-Take time to rest and recuperate from the challenges and “battles” of living in the world.
-Feel into whether you have the will and courage in any moment to engage/compete; don’t let your ego decide for you.
-Use your Strategy and Authority to help you choose the right timing and circumstances for impacting others with your “shock therapy.”

Gate 51.6 Personality Mercury – I had a NDE in an earthquake in 2011 (Japan) and was struck by lightning. Both transformed me. A rather jolting experience to say the least but I was off-track, so to speak, and both of these experiences helped this 4/1 on the Cross of Caring get back on the correct track for me. I have been living my experiment since 2012 and studying Human Design. Here to nurture the minds of others.

Gate 51: Design Sun
I am always trying to hide all the shocking experiences I experience and wish that I didn’t have such a jarring impact on others when interacting. I’m a female in my twenties and people tend to feel competitive with me or inferior and I just want people to feel comfortable and at ease with me when they’re with me, instead of curious or competitive, so this gate is a little frustrating to me because it affects that.
